But, this isn’t what Jesus had in your mind, He wanted more than the restoration of Israel; He ideal the repair of most mankind. His program might include not only the repair of the Jewish people but also the repair of all of the Gentile nations.
The facts with this new strategy are revealed in this forty-day, post-resurrection period. The Great Commission is mentioned in all of the gospels, and for the fifth time we find it in Functions 1:8 formatted in an alternative way. This Scripture reveals a more certain technique compared to the different four designs reveal. Basically this technique unveiled a progressive geographical movement from a nearby epicenter that could increase to world wide proportions. The further they removed themselves from Jerusalem the more difficulties they’d encounter with language, ethnic values and varied pagan philosophies. If we dissect and examine that passing carefully and breakdown each area we could learn God’s motive and technique to save a lost humanity.
Paradoxically, Jesus recognized one purpose in the thoughts of His disciples, that of ongoing the ministry expansion of the kingdom of God on earth after His departure. He related that function with seven factors that he referred to in Functions 1:8. The initial one begins with persons, including you and I. (Please pay attention to the italic phrases in the Scripture articles that follow after each and every headline.)
God’s initial purpose was to create what’s promising of salvation through His Boy, Jesus. First, Jesus in His earthly Acts 1:8 Ministry shown the kingdom and then taught His disciples (Acts 1:1). Then he made this duty to the most strange people. Number you might have considered and opted for these a dozen men to be on their team. Jesus did. The group contained several fishermen, a duty collector, a zealot and others. All of which were Galileans with the exception of Judas Iscariot who originated from the southern element of Israel. Many of these Galileans were unschooled (illiterate) and ordinary (idiots) guys (Acts 4:13), while others were from the market arena. This is perhaps not a dream group by any standards. The apostle Paul in his page to the Corinthians observed:
Friends, consider what you had been when you had been called. Few of you had been sensible by human criteria; very few were influential; few were of respectable birth. But Lord find the foolish points of the world to disgrace the intelligent; God chose the weak things of the entire world to disgrace the strong. He chose the lowly points with this world and the despised things and what are not to nullify things that are, to ensure that no one may present before Him. (1 Corinthians 1:26-29)
God would definitely utilize the most strange visitors to distribute His gospel to a missing world. His purpose for picking these men was therefore they’d realize that salvation and the wonders could be wrought by divine intervention, perhaps not by man’s capacity or ingenuity. God would receive the credit for the blind receiving their sight, the dull walking, the lifeless increasing to life, and countless of men and women visiting Christ.
But it was a certain itinerant preacher, by the name of John the Baptist, who originally pointed to the Messiah as the Person who could baptize them with the promised Sacred Spirit: I baptize you with water, but He [Jesus] may baptize you with the Sacred Spirit. (Mark 1:8)
Jesus not just offered them the Holy Nature but He will be the one who would fulfill Their own promise. That promise, present in Joel 2:28, was fulfilled by the ascended Christ in the second page of Acts. Jesus had used forty of His article resurrection days with His apostles telling and revealing in their mind His empire strategy. Among the countless strategies He shared with them was the promise of the Sacred Spirit. That promise could be satisfied fifty days out of His resurrection. The disciples didn’t know exactly when that assurance will be achieved but only so it could happen soon. They simply believed and behaved upon His words.
